Work on Display at ‘Pretty Like Pictures’ in Thame, Oxfordshire throughout July – August

I will be showing a selection of oil paintings at ‘Pretty Like Pictures’ in Thame, Oxfordshire.

The work on display is a selection of paintings from the last year or so. The Cornish landscape has informed the paintings i have made during this time. They attempt to capture a momentary glimpse of something i find touching: the light and colour of the sea or trees or moorland. The way in which light shifts across water, the movement of grasses swaying softly in the wind, the sky at dawn glowing behind the warm, dark silhouette of trees. All these things have been at the forefront of my mind whilst making this work. Cornwall, particularly, is a landscape that is ever changing: the ebb and flow of seasons and the dramatic changes in the weather and light are always evident.

Pretty Like Pictures can be found in the Heart of the pretty market town of Thame, Oxfordshire and has an array of original works, prints and ephemera by artists and illustrators Dick Bruna, Quentin Blake, Anna Pugh and Peter Blake, amongst others.
