Seaweed Underwater 2 (60 x 48cm)

Sightings of Morgawr Exhibition at The Fish Factory, Penryn 23 May – 3 June

The Fish Factory presents an exciting new exhibition ‘Sightings of Morgawr’ A cross-disciplinary exhibition including zines, writing, print, painting, sculpture, textiles, photography, mixed media, drawing and collage. I’m thrilled to have had a painting selected for the show and can’t wait to see how other artists have responded to the theme. What creatures lie beneath the waters surface is a constant obsession of mine and something that has informed recent paintings.

In Cornish folklore, the Morgawr (meaning sea giant in Cornish) is a sea serpent that purportedly inhabits the sea near Falmouth Bay, Cornwall, England. A hoax, an undiscovered creature of the deep or a mythical being – you decide! Sightings of Morgawr is part of the Fal River Festival.

A programme of events will run alongside the exhibition which runs 23 May – 3 June
