I’m delighted to be exhibiting some of my larger paintings in the Stones Cafe at Krowji in Redruth.
‘Rooms’ will include paintings of interior spaces created mainly during the pandemic. These works, made using acrylic inks in saturated colour, speak of the heightened emotions of several lockdowns spent at home. I use colour to depict a kind of reinvention of both real and imagined spaces. Our rooms, our domestic environments became both our sanctuary and our place of confinement. Everything that was felt and experienced during the pandemic, happened here. The paintings are also a way of transforming this experience, of travelling to imagined spaces outside of the confines of bricks and mortar. Paintings are like rooms; you can step into them and be transported to another place entirely.
‘Rooms’ will run 10 March – 5 June in Stones Café, which serves delicious breakfast and lunch specials, hot drinks, amazing cakes and pastries, I recommend!
