Having been inspired by Anita Taylors recent talk at CAST on the insistence of Drawing as well as the Jerwood Drawing Prize Exhibition, i decided to enter the drawing prize myself this year.

My entry is called ‘Composition with blue circle’ – Acrylic Ink on Paper – 23cm x 33cm – 2015. It is a compositional drawing i made last year using acrylic ink applied directly to paper and then scraped using various implements, to carve out shapes, revealing light, tone and colour. This drawing came from a series i called interior landscapes: Part still life, part memory, part invention.
